Salt River Lobster has served the Washington D.C. area since 1982. Mike McConnell, a genuine lobsterman from Boothbay, Maine, founded the company when a friend of his suggested that he bring some lobster down to NIH to sell to the Bethesda community. On that first trip, Mike brought down about a hundred pounds of lobster from the fresh, clean waters of Maine, in his old pickup truck and they were sold within an hour. In the two decades-plus since, Salt River Lobster has expanded it's Bethesda sales to include shrimp, fresh fish, and various other shellfish. When security concerns forced us to move off of NIH property, our friends at the Bethesda Community Store have been kind enough to give us a new home so we can keep bringing seafood to the area. In addition, the kind folks of Kensington have invited us to join their Farmer's Market every weekend.
Bethesda We are at the Bethesda Community Store at Old Georgetown and Greentree Road every Friday all year round from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, rain or shine.
Kensington Located at the Kensington Train Station on Howard Avenue Every Saturday all year round, 8am-noon
